[ Well, if she didn't have an embarrassing crush on him already, she does now! Holding the bouquet close, Juniper deeply inhales their scent (blushing terribly intensely as she does), and slinks back into her apartment with them to lay down, and still her fluttering heart. ]
[In the middle of the night, a festively wrapped package (ice pink paper, glittery blue snowflake pattern, silver ribbon) appears outside of Juniper's door.
Inside: a kanzashi, a flower-shaped Japanese hair ornament.
[ This is a good gift. It's the kind of gift that, when opened, the recipient holding the box audibly gasps when she sees what's inside. It's gorgeous, and Juniper falls so immediately in love with it that it's already in her hair as she searches for a gift tag, or some sort of note to see who it's from.
Nothing. Hm.
It isn't immediately obvious to her who may have left it, although she has her suspicions- that eventually lead to a simple text from her to Aizawa later in the day: 🌸 ]
[Late on the night of the 23rd, a small package will be left, suspiciously, on her window sill.
Once opened, she'll discover that it's a box of bath bombs, along with a small card, complete with a wintery scene on one side, and Ezio's neat script on the other:]
[ The fact that the package is on her windowsill narrows down the culprits significantly before she's even opened it. Curious to see what Ezio's brought her this time, she carefully opens it up and smiles brightly at the bath bombs she finds in there, sticking her nose in closer to better breathe in the floral tones.
Reading his message, Juniper laughs. ]
Of course I will. [ Said quietly to herself, as she promptly takes them to her bathroom- where she means only to put them away, but instead finds herself running the water as she sits and picks out one of her new bath bombs instead.
Thank you, Ezio. ]
For the Twelve Days of Event Recovery My Wizard Stole For Me:
-one electric blanket -two knockoff lets-not-break-anyone's-fourth-walls dvds for a movie night (unless there are other preferences, Technically Not "Little Mermaid" and "Beauty and the Beast" -- Imoen thought they'd be cute and romantic but is clearly disappointed in all this have to turn human business where 👏 Is 👏 Her 👏 Romancing 👏 Nonhuman 👏 Movies!) -three flower-themed decorative hairpins -four bulk packages of pudding cups -FIVE FAUX-GOLD HORN RINGS (this one legitimately purchased just don't ask where she got the money) -six sets of nail polish -seven shades of eye shadow -eight shades of lipstick -nine boxes of incense -ten floral arrangements that she forgot to take the name tags of the person who ordered them off of -eleven ridiculously extravagant and difficult to clean up bath bombs and a promise she'll clean them up for her (she will conveniently forget) -twelve shiny bird toys to watch Poppy play with
Within a ring of floral arrangements, incense, and make up, with pudding cups in her lap and Poppy playing with her new toys, Juniper sits on the living room floor and cries a little. It's not sobbing, mind you, and maybe not so much crying as just silently leaking tears, but she is definitely emotional.
For Imoen, Juniper has prepared a gift as well. It is packaged nicely and neatly, with a big, beautiful red bow tied to it, and, in lieu of a traditional gift tag, Imoen's name written in an artful version of Juniper's already rounded, neat handwriting across the entirety of the brown paper it's wrapped in, with a single sprig of actual juniper tied to the bow. In it is the following:
- a (secretly knit) wool scarf, big and soft and rainbow in colour, and seemingly made with both love and practiced hands. - about a dozen tubes of various coloured hair dye, meant for mixing together to create whatever colours one desires - a nice, leather bound notebook with a pen handcrafted from antler - and a large variety pack of several different flavours of hot cocoa
[Today, Imoen has asked for help dressing up for a party. Do her hair nice, some makeup. She has acquired a dress just for this occasion, along with a purse that she hides her push dagger in. Early evening, Syeira collects Imoen.
Later, a text comes -- from Phillip's phone.]
made a new friend
[It's a high-angle selfie, aiming to try fitting a bit of cleavage in, willing to let some of her head fall out of the frame to do it, if that's what it takes. She gives the phone's camera a wink as she takes the picture.]
[ Dolling Imoen up for a party is the highlight of her day, honestly. Juniper giggles and sings for a lot of it (as usual), doing a beautiful face up for her lovely dominant and giving her a cute hair style to boot. She finds time to do a little bit of make up for herself too, not needing much for a night in with Molly but in the mood for a bit of dolling up herself before Imoen leaves anyway, giving her a little parting kiss before she's whisked away by her sister and telling her to have fun, and that she will be home later too.
When that text comes later, she recognizes the number. It's in her contacts under Phillip's name, but she doesn't expect to see a picture of Imoen come from it. Confused but pleased by the picture, when Juniper texts back, it (obviously) goes to Phillip's phone. ]
aw! you have meet imoen? you are at the party too?
[ It's only afterwards that she thinks to switch to Imoen's message box, where she sends a message to her too. ]
[pretty much out of nowhere, Juniper gets a text from Phillip that seems to be... missing some context.]
science is off to a good start
but i think we need to keep running experiments
[Attached is a picture, but one of the form Juniper has yet to see in person. It's... quite the two of it, though, as Phillip is clearly perched on her knees on the bed, even in the camera only shows her upper half. An arm is draped across her beautifully shaped breasts, half concealing them and half pressing them together, as she gives the camera a teasing look.]
saw this & thought of you it's been a shitty fucking month & I know you're probably pissed but if we could coexist in the same room for a while I'd feel maybe ten or eleven thousand times better I'm not gonna say I miss you but you know
[ like so many others before her, venus joins the crowd of misfires with a bang. what's surprising isn't the raunchiness of the picture, though - it's actually fairly tame as far as nudes go! sure, her breasts are definitely out for the camera, but her bottom half's been covered by simple black lingerie and her legs are tangled between white sheets.
no, what sets this apart is the artistry of the picture. the natural lighting coming off venus's skin and the light filtering in from an unseen window combine to make her look even more radiant than she does normally. she is perfect set in its framing, like the subject of a painting rather than a sext. and if juniper looks a bit closer... yes, there's no doubt. whoever took the picture took the time to do post-production work on it (with what limited tools they had.) yes, this is an artisanal nude, top to bottom.
and to top it all off, it comes with the short text: ]
i miss you
[ looks like you've intercepted something a bit personal! ]
Edited (THIS IS WHAT I GET FOR HALF-ASLEEP TAGGING) 2019-01-21 17:27 (UTC)
[ Oh. Oh, this is a nice photo. It's what Juniper tries to do with some of her own photos, this artful sort of aura to an otherwise naughty scene, and although she's confused as to why Venus has sent it, she still has a moment in which she stares and admires the picture on her phone.
Until she notices the accompanying text, and she realizes this was not meant for her. ]
oh oh no, venus this is a very lovely picture, but was this meant for someone else?
[Not that it's overly unusual for Juniper to receive text of a sexual nature from Ezio. But this one seems different. Like it was meant to be part of an entirely different conversation.]
But I would miss all of those pretty noises you make for me. I wonder how long it would take before you begged me to use my mouth instead
[The picture is innocent enough. It's a very extreme closeup of some circuitry, with exposed wires trailing out away from the focus and off screen. It's a strange thing to take a picture of, to be sure, but it doesn't have any inherently awkward meaning. That comes with the text that accompanies it.]
[ No matter how long Juniper stares the picture, it doesn't make any more sense to her. Wires? Circuitry? That's about all she sees. She recognizes the username, of course, and she knows that Tony is technologically inclined, so she thinks he's- showing her one of his projects? Maybe?? ]
[Clearly, this is supposed to be a normal phone call, with no video, but it's become painfully clear, that Syeira is h o p e l e s s with the device. So unfortunately, Juniper is treated to a somewhat dark view with a peek of light that reveals that this is pressed up to Syeira's face. It's also a weird angle, because she's got it sandwiched between her ear and shoulder, while she works on something made of fabric.]
-going to have to work every night until- Juniper? Are you there?
[ The strange view confuses her at first, until she realizes that Syeira isn't actually trying to show her anything. With a bit of soft laughter preceding her response, ]
Hey Juniper, I could use your advice on something.
Let's say I happen to know a very pretty, very smart lady who's even worse at taking time off than I am. What would you suggest to help her relax a little for a change?
oooOOOooh well your hypothetical very pretty very smart lady who doesn't know how to relax might enjoy a nice relaxing bath something like my nice baths with my bath bombs and flowers and milk and honey, and candles and music maybe wine if she likes wine
